Audio Diversions now offers two methods for renting audiobooks: individual and subscription. Audiobooks can also be purchased individually.
We continue to offer free personal service in selecting titles from our catalog or locating a title we do not have.
Executive Summary
Individual rentals and purchases are our traditional method. There is no membership involved. You find the titles you want in our catalog, add them to your cart, and checkout with payment for rental or purchase and shipping. We send the titles, and you return rentals.

NEW–Subscription rental plans are a revised and expanded version of our Literature for Listening Club. You subscribe for a monthly fee plus individual shipping cost, and add books to your listening list from our catalog. We ship books from the top of your list. You may have multiple books at one time–see plans.
Additional books are shipped as frequently as you return one to us. You can stop and start the subscription whenever you choose. Optionally, we can select all or some titles for you (with as much guidance as you care to give us).

Individual rentals - cart
To rent, or purchase, individually, find the titles you want in our catalog. When the individual title page is shown, select purchase or rent. The purchase and rental prices are shown. This will add the book to your cart and show it. Continue to Checkout or select Search to locate other titles.
Rentals cost about 1/3 of the list purchase price of the book plus shipping. Shipping cost is the actual two way shipping cost using Priority mail with original packaging for CDs and cassettes.
You have 30 days to listen [travel time is on us]. There is no limit on the number of books you have out at one time [other than what you can reasonable listen to in one month]. There are no late fee charges.
If you need more than a month, call us or e-mail us and we will work out an extended rental period. If the audiobooks are not returned within the extended period they will be sold to you and charged to your credit card.
If you prefer, you may call us ( 703-622-9205) to rent or purchase. If we are not able to answer the phone when you call, it is OK to leave it on our Voice Mail. If you have placed an order with us in the past, and have not changed credit cards, you do not need to give us your charge card information again.
Subscription rental plans
The Audio Diversions Literature for Listening Club provides two primary features:
• Automatic rentals from your listening list for a monthly fee + shipping, and
• an optional, free personalized staff selection service where we select a title that we think you will enjoy based on the guidance that you provide (as little or as much guidance as you like).
The Plans
The listening plans allow you to rent one or more audiobooks at a time for a monthly fee + shipping for each book. The books are sent automatically from the list of books that you create and manage using the Catalog and My List pages. Starting and stopping a plan is under your control on your Account page.
Plans 1,2, 3
The 1, 2 and 3 plans allow you to have that many titles out at one time. When a title is returned, the next available title on your list is sent. The number of rentals sent each month is unlimited. If the list is empty, no title is sent.
Plan Zero
With Plan Zero, no books will be sent and there is no monthly fee after the last book out is returned.
Plan Zero may be selected initially to build a Listening List or preview the system, with no charges or books being sent.
If you currently have a monthly plan, you can stop the sending of books and the monthly fee, without emptying your list, by choosing Plan Zero and returning all rented books.
You can restart a monthly plan by selecting it on your Account page. The monthly fee begins when books are shipped.
Cost
• 1 title: One rental at a time for a monthly fee of $13 + shipping for each book.
• 2 titles: Two rentals at a time for a monthly fee of $23 + shipping for each book.
• 3 titles: Three rentals at a time for a monthly fee of $33 + shipping for each book.
Shipping
Media mail, $4.95 round trip. Audiobooks will be sent from Virginia with packaging and postage included for the return trip. This shipment will be CDs and cassettes only, without original packaging.
First class mail, 5.95 round trip. Same terms as media mail but may be faster.
Priority mail, $9.95 round trip. Similar to first class but includes original packaging for CDs and cassettes and, the Postal Service says, quicker delivery.
Personalized Staff Selection
Audio Diversions has been providing personalized staff selections to our customers for many years. This service is available free with either individual selections or a monthly listening plan.

With a subscription rental plan, a staff selection can be added to other titles on your Listening List. When the staff selection comes to the top of the list, we select a title that we think you will enjoy based on the guidance you've provided, your past selections, and comments.
Adding a staff selection item to your Listening List is easier than choosing your own titles. On the My List page, the center section is your Listening List. Click on "Add a staff selection". Then, click on "comment" to enter your selection guidance, if any.
If you are unhappy with a staff selection, let us know and we will replace it with another.
